What is UPVC?

UPVC is Unplasticized Poly Vinyl Chloride. The main component of UPVC is salt. The extrusion process of PVC uses 3 times less energy than aluminium smelting. Our UPVC contains no traces of lead.

What is Double Glazing?

Double glazing is an Insulated Glass Unit (IGU), which is made up of two pieces of glass; joined though an air spacer. The unit is sealed to prevent any dust or moisture to get between the glass. Our IGU’s are filled with argon gas as standard.

Is your profile UV resistant?

Our profile is produced from “Tropical Mix” panels, especially designed for high UV countries; such as, Australia. The extrusion mix is completely different from the mix used for European countries, as they have different climate conditions . Our white profile will not become yellow over time.

Is UPVC recyclable?

Yes. UPVC profile is fully recyclable.

I’m building in coastal area, can I install UPVC windows?

Absolutely UPVC windows is your best option, as they will not corrode, and are water and weather tight. They also do not require painting and are easy to maintain.

What is the maximum size of Double Glazed Unit?

With window design you should consider the weight issue of Insulated Glazing Units. The standard 4x4x20 unit weighs 25 kg per square metre. For a unit larger than 3 metres squared, the glass thickness must be increased in accordance to building regulations. For example: Unit 2600×2400 will weigh 310 kg. It will require expensive heavy lifting equipment on the construction site, at the time of glazing. We recommend this issue be discussed in advance with us.

What type of glass I can get in Double Glazed Units?

Our standard Glass unit is 28mm (4mm+20+4mm) float or toughened. Standard obscure glass is Decor Satin (Frosted) or Cathedral. If you require a different type of glass, you can discuss that with us. Almost any glass is available to you including tinted and obscure.

Can Double Glazed windows reduce noise?

Yes. You can achieve a noise reduction of 80% for windows. But you have to look at other aspects of noise insulation in the house such as floors, walls and ceilings.

My existing Aluminium windows are leaking in the corners, will I have the same problem with UPVC windows?

Never. Our windows and doors corners are welded.

How I can improve security?

As you know our windows are glazed from the inside. It means that glass can only be removed only from the inside of the premises. You can choose windows and doors with multiple locking hardware (Tilt and Turn being the best option) and we install lockable handles to all windows as standard.

I have imported my windows from overseas. Can I buy spare parts and glass replacement?

Unfortunately, most of the time no. Most of the time, they use different hardware systems and glass spacers, which cannot be bought locally. It is a common problem, with overseas products, and we get many enquiries about this. Please consider carefully the installation service, with the replacement of broken glass and hardware parts issues before you will make a decision to buy windows and doors from overseas. We offer a 10 year guarantee on all of our products.

What areas do you cover?

We service all areas within 300km of Perth, if you live further away than this, please call us as we will still be able to help you.
